The Connection is excited to announce that its social enterprise, The Institute for Innovative Practice, has issued a new Catalog for the Spring and Summer of 2023.
This season we are featuring courses focused on Essential Skills, Clinical Practices, Leadership Development, Organizational Health, and Wellness at Work. We will also be exploring Special Topics in Community Justice. Each training course provides innovative solutions to address today’s complex workforce development needs. The Connection prides itself on offering courses that are deeply grounded in evidence-based theory and presented with cultural competency, gender responsiveness and trauma-informed care.
The Connection continues to offer Certification Courses such as CPR/First Aid/AED and Narcan administration. This training will prepare individuals for unforeseen emergency situations and increase the safety and wellbeing of their community, in such instances of an opioid overdose. The CDC reports there were an estimated of 107,622 drug overdose deaths in the United States during 2021. Utilizing your CPR/First Aid skills by quickly responding in an emergency can be the difference between life and death.
We are also featuring Mental Health First Aid training. This non-clinical training provides participants with the skills to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
