Time Off and Holidays
The Connection observes eleven (11) holidays.
Vacation accrues on a biweekly basis. The rate of accrual is based on years of service and hours worked per week. Employees who are scheduled to work an average of thirty (30) or more hours per week are entitled to paid vacation. Employees working between thirty (30) and thirty-nine (39) hours per week earn vacation on a pro-rated basis.
Employees accrue sick time on a monthly basis pro-rated for employees who work less than forty (40) hours per week.
Employees who are regularly scheduled to work twenty (20) to forty (40) hours per week accrue up to a maximum of three (3) days per year.
Available Insurance and Pre-Tax Savings Options
Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance is offered to employees whose regular scheduled work week is thirty (30) hours or more. Employee premium contributions depend upon the coverage selected.
Short Term Disability Insurance is provided to employees whose regular scheduled work week is thirty (30) hours or more through a self-insured disability plan administered by The Connection, Inc.
Employees have 24/7 access to a doctor by phone or online video consult. ($0 co-pay) just by enrolling in medical coverage.
Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance is provided by the agency to employees whose regular scheduled work week is thirty (30) hours or more.
Optional Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance is offered to employees whose regular scheduled work week is thirty (30) hours or more.
Employees whose regular scheduled work week is thirty (30) hours or more are enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan are eligible to participate in an HSA.
Employees whose regular scheduled work week is thirty (30) hours or more are eligible to participate in the FSA program which allows employees to pay for unreimbursed medical expenses with the FSA Medical and daycare expenses with the FSA Dependent Care with pretax wages.
The Connection provides a vehicle for all employees to save for retirement via the 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity. Employer Matching is dollar for dollar up to 3%.
Other Benefits
The agency provides a confidential EAP program offering counseling, work/life, information resource, lifestyle, and career development and training benefits to employees and their families. The Connection covers the cost of these services.
The Connection offers its employees in-house training to develop, maintain, and enhance their skills and abilities through e-learning and classroom settings. All training must be approved by an employee’s supervisor.
Other benefits may be available, more information will be provided to new hires and applicants who inquire.
The Connection recognizes that an internship can be a beneficial experience to a student’s educational development. As an agency, we highly value internship students and the skills they contribute to our programs. Through internships, there are opportunities for career exploration and development for these students.
The Connection partners with many local colleges and universities to offer unpaid internships to students working towards degrees in a variety of professional disciplines, including social work, human services, marriage and family therapy, public health, business, and communications.
