Middlesex United Way Awards $10,000 Grant to The Connection for Entrepreneurial Workshop Series

The Connection is thrilled to announce that the Community Impact Council of Middlesex United Way has approved a generous grant of $10,000 for The Connection for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

This funding is designated to support the Taking Your Idea Over the Finish Line: Entrepreneurial Workshop Series, a program designed to empower aspiring entrepreneurs in Middlesex County.

Navigating the entrepreneurial landscape requires more than just brilliant ideas; it demands strategic planning, effective communication, and financial support. This entrepreneurial workshop series aims to bridge this gap by equipping participants with the necessary knowledge, skills, and resources to turn their innovative ideas into successful ventures.

Through a combination of interactive workshops, specialized coaching, and ongoing support, the series will provide participants with the essential tools and confidence needed to launch their Non-Profit Organizations or for-profit businesses. This initiative is part of The Connection’s Institute for Innovative Practice, which is dedicated to making a significant impact on both the participants and the communities they serve. Over the past four years, The Connection has conducted an annual four-part grant writing series in partnership with the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce. Feedback from these sessions highlighted a growing demand for more personalized guidance, prompting the development of this comprehensive workshop series.

Lorenzo Marshall, Director of Workforce Development at the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, expressed his enthusiasm, stating,

“I am particularly pleased that many participants have expressed a need for additional support beyond the classroom setting. The request for one-on-one, project-specific guidance underscores the importance of personalized assistance in successfully securing grants and starting business projects. By addressing this need, we can ensure that individuals and organizations have the resources and expertise required to effectively articulate their visions and bring them to fruition.”

This grant from the Middlesex United Way will enable The Connection to provide tailored support, helping to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem in the community. If you would like to join our contact list to receive updates for us about how to join the series, please click here.
